In what won’t come as a shock to pretty much all of us given the world’s current COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 NAB has been cancelled.

On March 20th, the official NAB website (nabshow.com) posted the following:

“NAB Show will not take place this April in Las Vegas. NAB is focused on continuing to provide value and connection for our Show community, and is announcing new online offerings including NAB Show Express, as well as enhancements to NAB Show New York, in the weeks and months to come.”

Originally due to take place between April 18th and April 22nd, the NAB is a yearly event where companies like Sony, Panasonic, Atomos, Canon, BlackMagic and many more choose to showcase their latest inventions and technological breakthroughs. AKA – Christmas for technology lovers.

Whilst of course this is a disappointment to technology and camera nerds all around the world, almost all will see this as a sensible move given the current lockdowns in place all over the world. The United States has quickly become the leader in Coronavirus victims and fatalities, now with over 400,000 infected and nearly 15,000 deaths.

As disappointed as we are here at Able Video & Multimedia, we’re even more devastated at the enormous loss of life the Coronavirus has caused and wish everyone who is affected by it a safe and speedy recovery.

We can only keep our fingers crossed for NAB 2021, as it is impossible to tell how COVID-19 will play out over the next 12 months – but all we know so far is the 2020 NAB has been cancelled.

From all of us here at Able – stay safe, and make sure you wash your hands!
