Samsung and Apple have long been leading the pack when it comes to smart phone innovation – which has come a long way since the start of the millennium. Now we have 8K Video on the Samsung S20.
Anyone remember playing Snake on their phone at school? Or maybe even on the bus or on your lunch break at work. Once upon a time that was the most popular mobile game on the face of the planet. Your keypad would turn into a D pad and you’d spend hours and hours trying to beat your previous score…. For the past couple of years now, we have been able to stream 4K content no matter where we are, we can play any of the thousands of games available for our mobile phones at the click of a button or two…
Fast forward to today, and it’s not typical for us to continue to be “blown away” by these innovative changes as they seem to be released on a near daily basis… Until now…
With a zoom of up to 100x and 8K video on the Samsung S20, it is something else completely. An increased battery capacity ensures that it’s not going to chew up your power too quickly.
But is 8K really necessary on a phone? We’ve barely gotten to a stage where high capacity hard drives are affordable to the average person. 1-2TB drives are still pretty standard in most computers you buy… and 8K video (unless heavily compressed) will just be insane in it’s file sizes.
What’s your opinion on it? We’re still holding our final judgement until the Samsung S20 is released and we can actually get our hands on it.
